The Best Vegetarian Places in Berlin, Germany
My Favourites

Berlin might be one of my favourite vegetarian foodie places, with tons of restaurants specifically catered for vegetarians and vegans, and most others offering several veggie options. This is thanks to the big alternative and student community that came here post the fall of the Berlin Wall, opening up countless opportunities for a different food scene to develop. And a delicious one at that! Here are my favourite Berlin restaurants for veggies (and anyone else really):

ToggleWhere to find the best Vegetarian Food in Berlin:
Berlin of course has countless other things to do, but finding amazing new vegetarians restaurants has become one of my favourites every time one of my tours passes through Germany’s capital. And there really are A LOT of veggie eats in Berlin!
Berlin is often called one of the world’s biggest vegetarian capitals, and it’s really interesting how it relates to its history and the community it built post the fall of the Berlin Wall. A food tour is a great way to learn more about that, for anyone interested (this one‘s a great one).

Mustafa's Can Gemüse Kebap
If you want an incredible Kebap (vegetarian or not), this is the place. The owner was one of the first to introduce more grilled veggies into his wraps, making for a super unique and amazing taste experience. My favourite was the Halloumi wrap, out of this world!
Saveur de Bánh Mì
After spending a few weeks in Vietnam, I have turned into somewhat of a Bahn Mi snob. And while I have tried many in Berlin and elsewhere, nothing has tasted as close to what I had in Vietnam and as incredible as the one at this shop. They only have one chicken and one veggie option, and the veggie one is INCREDIBLE! Plus it’s huge, can 100% recommend.
Curry Mitte or Curry 61
Both of these are around the Hackescher Markt area and real cult institutions. I have never seen Curry 61 without a huge line out the door and Curry Mitte has even had Rihanna visit once upon a time. Both have delicious vegetarian/vegan versions of the famous Berlin Currywurst and are a must-try!
Hofbräu Wirtshaus Berlin
Hofbräuhaus is actually a famous beer brewery from Southern Germany (Munich), but it has a restaurant in Berlin that serves the same delicious dishes and beer you get in Munich. And while this restaurant is known for the pork knuckles and other meat dishes, my favourite has always been the vegetarian ones. I grew up in Munich, so Käsespätzle (the German version of Mac and Cheese) is one of my all-time favourites and Hofbräuhaus makes a really good version. Also try the desserts, especially Kaiserschmarrn!
VEG'D - Vegan Burgers - F-hain
If you want a banging burger menu where absolutely everything is vegan and nothing “looks” vegan, this is the spot for you. Honestly insane burgers!
li.ke : serious||thai||vegan
Really close to the last burger places is another amazing vegan restaurants featuring one of my all-time favourite cuisines: Thai food. They have an insane selection of dishes, all vegan and all looking and taste (from what I’ve had at least) divine.
Falafel Al Amin Imbiss
If you want to support a traditional business and have the best Falafel ever, this is the place for you. They also have huge vegan plates at a great price, definitely stop by here!
