Where to Stay in Vlorë, Albania
Budget to Luxury

Vlore in Albania features some of the most stunning beaches, a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food and all for the fraction of a price to its neighbours like Greece. If you are planning your summer getaway to this stunning coastal city, here are all the best places to stay for any budget.

About two years ago, I spent a month in Albania where I volunteered in a hostel there. It was such a peaceful stay, with the pristine beaches and turquoise waters. Me and my fellow volunteer ate out basically every day and had delicious seafood for just 5-10€. It was THE perfect budget destination and just starting to be on the travel mainstream radar.

Now, Albania is a little more well-known as a travel destination, though still underrated in my opinion. Vlore especially has some incredible hotel options at great prices and is a little less busy than Saranda (check out my Saranda accommodation guide here).

Here are my top places to stay in Vlore:

Where to stay in Vlore, Albania for any traveller:

Vlore, Albania in Summer - beach days

Vlore is a pretty walkable city with lots of stunning beaches. During peak season, a lot of them are private so you need to pay for a sun lounge, though this is usually still affordable.

Affordable hostels in Vlore

Vlora Backpackers Hostel Seaside – This hostel is in a great location near all the major beaches and the big bar/restaurant mile. Best for short stays.

Pinegroove Hostel Vlora  – At the upper end of the city where the famous club and bar area is. Often called a home away from home.

Hotels at different price points in Vlore:

$ Seaside Hotel – This hotel is only a short walk to the beach and offers great value for money.

$ Hotel Onorato – Lovely rooms, great breakfast and all in a central location.

$$ Valza Boutique Hotel – I spent 3 weeks at this hostel volunteering for accommodation as part of the Worldpackers program and loved every second. The host is kind, the hotel and amenities are amazing and there are tons of delicious restaurants nearby.

$$ Grand Mirage Hotel – Delicious breakfast, nice location and beautiful seaside views from a lot of the rooms.

$$$ Yacht Hotel – If you’re looking for something fancy with a well-known restaurant and bar that is sold out every night, this is the hotel for you. The service is impeccable and the hotel is beautiful.

$$$ Belvedere Hotel and Spa – A very luxurious stay with impeccable service and even a private beach area.

How to get to Vlore?

The closest airport to Vlore is in Albania’s capital of Tirana. I have written a full guide on getting from Tirana Airport to Vlore here, which is the most affordable option.

Alternatively you could get a taxi or rent a car. Taxi would probably be around 70-100€, whereas you can get rental cars from 25-35€ per day.

Is Vlorë a good place to stay in Albania?

Yes, I think Vlore is a great place for a holiday. It is a little less busy than Saranda and easily reachable from Tirana airport. I also always felt really safe here and thought the hotels and restaurants were all of great quality.

How many days do you need in Vlorë?

I’d say you only need 2 days to see the city and do one of the tours on offer (e.g. the Blue Gem Cave), however Vlore is the perfect location for a beach holiday and you can easily spend 5+ days here relaxing on the beach and eating amazing seafood.
